PGL - Day 3
On Wednesday, the children of group 1 took part in their final activities at PGL. They started off the morning by trying to climb to the top of Jacob's ladder. It was great to see the children stay positive and persevere to reach the top despite the poor weather conditions. The final activity of the morning was Archery. They all learnt the correct stance for holding a bow and arrow and how to fire it correctly. Then we had to say goodbye to group 1.
Group 1 had been absolutely amazing these past three days. Mr Bond and Mrs Phillips were really impressed with all the children. Every child had a go at completing every activity showing across the three days great 'teamwork and leadership' skills and they should all be proud of what they have accomplished on this school trip.
After lunch, we welcomed 'group 2' who settled into camp life very quickly. They were introduced to their new camp leader 'Cam' who played games with the children and gave them a tour of the PGL site.
The first activity of the day was 'All aboard'. The year 5 team were really impressed that all the children attempted the activity, and it was great to see so many children manage to reach the top of the tower. The instructor commented to me that the children were "brilliant at supporting and cheering on their classmates".
Then it was Group 2's turn to have a go at Fencing. This was a popular activity with the children, and they enjoyed learning about the correct stances of fencing and how to take part in a sword fight properly.
After dinner, the children split into teams and took part in 'Robot Wars'. This was led by our Camp leader Cam who told me he was really impressed with the designs and outfits that the children created.
