Term 1 Cornerstones
Land Ahoy!
Geography
We have had a very unusual visitor this week - a friendly pirate! The pirate led us on an exciting treasure hunt around the school until we found an X that marked the spot! We all got our hands dirty as we dug, dug, dug! Our eyes shone as we opened the treasure chest and discovered gold doubloons, rubies, diamonds, golden compasses and a pirate flag. Pirates always share their treasure so we each had a large chocolate coin! Ahoy me hearties!
With out Land Ahoy! topic we will develop children’s knowledge of the sea, seafaring and pirates. Children use maps, learn about famous pirates and explorers and find out about life at sea. We think about life at sea and the kind of characters
Music
This term in music we have been playing instruments to represent different types of weather with our music teacher Mrs Fairhead.
