Our Curriculum
Our nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework which supports children’s development across seven key areas of learning. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that focuses on learning through play to encourage children to explore, imagine and discover in a way that is both meaningful and joyful.
- Outdoor learning plays a central role in our setting, with children benefiting from daily access to a large, well-equipped outdoor area.
- Early literacy is introduced through the Read Write Inc. phonics programme, helping children develop strong foundations in reading and language.
- In mathematics we emulate the Mastering Number programme used in Reception by introducing key concepts in a developmentally appropriate way to our nursery children. This approach helps to build strong early number sense and mathematical confidence, giving children a solid foundation and a head start as they transition into Reception.
- Developing social and emotional skills are a key focus of our curriculum. We support children in building self-regulation skills and confidence, helping them understand and manage their emotions, build positive relationships, and develop resilience. This foundation is essential for their well-being and success both in nursery and as they move through their educational journey.
