All year groups are enjoying their music making at Heron Park, with Y2-6 having specialist lessons with Sussex Music School. Rebekah Fairhead is new teaching Y2 this year, with Alex Dalton remaining in KS2.
Y3’s are using a ‘makeshift music kit’ consisting of a plastic cup and a pair of doweling rods to create and perform their own music at their desks! For the past 2 weeks they have been playing a spooky piece and learning how to notate it too. Y4 are learning recorders and also learning how to read and write music on the stave. Y5 are enjoying learning songs on the ukulele, along with an understanding of how chords work. Y6 have just started a unit on music production – making their own music using a computer. They are loving it!!
